My mushrooms have grown

Big Day today since it was Big Boy first visit to school. We were invited to attend a lesson for 1 hour and he enjoyed himself so much playing outside that he didn't want to leave when our session was over. He was asking when he would return. Official start is next Tuesday and it seems he really can't wait. Now I have to make his PE bag for next week. When we went to Japan, I had found a lovely Thomas the Tank Engine fabric, quite thick which looks like denim. Of course Big Boy was too little at the time to be interested in Thomas the Tank Engine but I thought I could always buy a meter just in case. I am so glad I did, this will be used (partially) in his bag.

Today I also finished my framed hexie to be sent to Australia. Here is a peak at the mushroom visiting the sorrel before I cut it to make some soup for tonight

and now the finished framed hexie.

I am off to sew my bag now. See you soon with hopefully more pictures.

September in the Hexagon!

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. That was until I remembered a long forgotten UFO that was laying in a plastic bag in my cupboard. I thought it would be the perfect occasion to get the dist and cobwebs out (no it wasn't that bad really) and give it a new lease of life! It all started with a few scrap strips and ended with a few more strips! I ordered and received a scrap bag of Moda fabric a few years back and I received a pack of off-cuts of Migration by Holly Taylor. It is snowing...

Well not really where I am. It is pouring down with rain and it is very windy too. But it has been snowing in my sewing room! If you have arrived from the Holiday Lane Pillow  blog hop , welcome!
